What is LTEP?
The Long-Term Exchange Programme (LTEP) is Rotary's flagship youth exchange. Students aged 15–18.5 spend a full academic year — typically 9 to 12 months — living with two to four host families in their destination country, attending a local high school and fully immersing themselves in the culture.
Eligibility
- ✓ Aged 15–18.5 at time of departure
- ✓ Currently enrolled in school (Class 9–11)
- ✓ Good academic standing
- ✓ No prior criminal record
- ✓ Parental consent and full family support
- ✓ Medically fit to travel and live abroad
What to Expect
Host Families
You will live with 2–4 carefully selected Rotary host families during your stay.
Local School
You attend a local high school, making friends and learning the language naturally.
Language
Most students arrive with little or no knowledge of the local language — and leave fluent.
Rotary Blazer
You represent Rotary and India wherever you go, wearing your official Rotary blazer.
Travel & Tours
District-organised tours and camps give you a chance to see the country and meet other exchange students.
Counsellor Support
A dedicated Rotary counsellor in your host country is your point of contact throughout the year.
